Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

ModelMe (“ModelMe”, “we”, “us”) operates an AI-based modeling photo assessment platform. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”). 2. Information we collect

When you register for and use ModelMe, we collect:

  • Account information — your email address and password (your password is never stored in plain text)
  • Profile information you choose to add, such as a profile photo
  • Photos you upload to My Photos, Private Vault, or specifically submit for an assessment
  • Assessment information — the ModelMe Score and feedback generated for photos you submit for assessment
  • Technical and security information reasonably necessary to operate and protect the Service, such as basic request/device metadata used for security and troubleshooting

3. Why we process your information

We process your personal information to:

  • Create and operate your ModelMe account
  • Store and organize your photos as you direct (My Photos, Private Vault, folders, favorites)
  • Generate an AI assessment and feedback for photos you deliberately submit for that purpose, with your consent
  • Maintain the security and integrity of the Service
  • Keep a record of your acceptance of our Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Policy
  • Communicate with you about your account (such as email confirmation and password reset)
  • Meet our legal and regulatory obligations

Our lawful basis for this processing is your consent (given at registration and, separately, when you submit photos for assessment), and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the Service.

4. Photo privacy — the ModelMe promise

ModelMe does not sell your personal information, and ModelMe does not sell your photos.

  • Your photos are not publicly visible, and are not visible to other ModelMe users
  • Photos are not shared with modeling agencies
  • Assessment photos are submitted specifically for AI assessment and are not sent to agencies or other users
  • Private Vault content is separate from the assessment system and is never AI-assessment eligible
  • My Photos content is also never used for AI assessment — only photos you deliberately submit into an assessment, with consent, are processed as assessment inputs

Your assessment is performed by AI — not by an agency, and not by a panel of people. You can explore ModelMe privately, without submitting yourself to human judgment simply to see whether modeling may suit you.

5. AI processing

When you submit photos for an assessment, those specific photos and associated processing data are sent to our AI provider (currently OpenAI) to generate your ModelMe Score and feedback. This processing is limited to the photos you deliberately submit for assessment — it does not include your general My Photos library or Private Vault content.

6. Your information

We do not sell your personal information or your photos to any third party. We use trusted infrastructure and service providers to operate ModelMe, who process information on our behalf, only as necessary to provide the Service, and subject to the platform's own access controls and applicable agreements with those providers.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted storage for photos, access controls limiting who and what can read your data, and a separate, more restricted storage area for Private Vault content. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Retention and deletion

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

10. Cookies and technical data

We use the minimum technical data (such as session cookies) necessary to keep you securely signed in and to operate the Service. We do not use this information for advertising.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
